Back to Work

This quote came up on my feed and I laughed at its significance. For over 20 years my vacations were not chosen by me, but rather when my boss chose to close the office. If I did take time on my own schedule, I was met with enormous amounts of work, guilt and anxiety when I returned. This left me feeling stressed during my vacation and wasn’t truly relaxing as intended.

This was the first real vacation that I chose for me. I took my time relaxing, I took time to enjoy, I took time to sit and listen. Sure, I knew I had a backlog of work awaiting me upon return, but knowing I have the time and now, reenergized spirit to complete it makes it all very worth it.
