Not A Natural Head Gardener

Today was yet another grey and uninspiring day for blipping. I needed a bit of colour so today's image is actually the only thing growing in our garden (I say garden but they're in a large pot just outside our back door - which was about as far as I managed to venture today) that has any colour - these very jolly little primroses.
The Head Gardener mug was given to me by my sister a few years ago - not because I am the best gardener in the family but because I am the only one (unless you count my sister's attempts at pruning - which I call "slash and burn" - it always looks worse than when she started! :-) ). No one else seems interested at all so I seem to have inherited the position by default. I do enjoy being out in the garden but I'm afraid my gardening skills are very limited, although I have been known to do a cracking hanging basket or two in the summer! :-)

I listened to another episode of the podcast "The Collection: Peel Acres" about the DJ John Peel's record collection. The guest choosing the records on this occasion was the DJ and producer Erol Alkan.
I love that you get a whole spectrum of different types of music in each episode.  I can't say all of it is to my taste and the odd track can be almost unlistenable but sometimes it does you good to educate your ears to different sounds.
Alongside this there are fascinating stories and fabulous track and band names. My favourite track names from this episode have to be "When Shrimps Learnt To Sing" (a 1974 acoustic guitar track by Leo Kottke) and "Shaolin Buddha Finger" (by the band Depth Charge). My favourite band name from this episode has to be Merrell Frankhauser & HMS Bounty. Great stuff!
