Dunraven Bay
Two years ago, just before the first lockdown, we enjoyed an excellent lunchtime meal at the Frolics Restaurant in Southerndown in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. Today, we returned there, to a warm (huggy, kissy) welcome from the hostess who was delighted to see us back. Once again it was an excellent meal, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended (if you don’t mind the huggy, kissy bit).
Afterwards we walked down to the beach at Dunraven Bay. The last time we visited, 2 years ago, was at high tide in miserable, wet weather so we didn’t appreciate the glories of this beach. At low tide today, on a wonderfully sunny day with barely a cloud in the sky, people were enjoying the large stretch of sand, backed by this glorious sedimentary limestone pavement at the top of the beach, below the cliffs.
As I write this, the sun is sinking low in the sky and there is a lovely orange glow through the cottage window. It has been a magnificent day.
