Trio of Tufties

At this time of year there are a fair number of Tufted Ducks on ponds and small lochs. They are at their cutest when the little black tuft of feathers on top of their heads looks rather like a comma.

A very busy day and it's not quite finished yet as I still have my patchwork class tonight. I took Poppy for a walk in the morning, in the afternoon I had my smart meter installed and all went so smoothly until the engineer had to relight my boiler.
Eventually, after using countless matches, a thin flower cane, some kitchen roll and some sellotape the pilot light reignited.
I think the young guy was relieved!
