Thaxted

Out doing a check on the Wild Walk and the water level is down in the River Chelmer and the mud is drying up nicely.
Even managed an unplanted crop field without ending up with feet of clay.
Went in the pub for lunch (and two pints of very acceptable bitter) before coming home via the library. Not much time for anything else after cleaning the boots and changing out of the walking gear. The view down the Main Street is too good to miss on a sunny day so I risked standing in the middle of the road to get the picture.
