Book picking

Today I did one of the things I enjoy a lot as a librarian - going to a book shop! We have some Money left in our budget which needs to be spent by the end of the month, and we often "mop up" leftover funds in our local Blackwell's which offers a reasonable discount for schools and public library. We know the staff, they know us and it is also very nice to catch up with them. So today, a colleague and I managed to spend over £2000 in books for primary school children in a morning... Apparently, I am a very efficient book buyer, I am sure SparseRunner would agree!
The Pentlands looked very inviting on my drive home, but I have too much work to do to afford the afternoon off.
