Easterly Day
Windy and cold today, but one of the rare days for surfing in Paignton (not me) with a strong wind off the sea.. In the morning the lecture at the Museum was on the natural history and archaeology of Orkney by Peter Exley (RSPB). A fascinating group of islands , which uniquely are the home of the common vole. Later we went for a walk along the beach passing my favourite blue plaque, ideal for International Women’s Day - Stella Gale - a dark haired Devon girl with a stormy name who was the first female harbour master in the United Kingdom, at age 21. See extra.
