Move Along Now, Nothing To See, Meh
As I was on my way out for Arlo's lunchtime walk, these ladies were wandering up the hill to the left from whatever business was happening in the pens to the right. I didn't want to put too many of them off, so waited until there was a gap, and of course as I drove through they all went the other way. Once we did get out and away from the cold wind, it was gorgeous. Proper spring gorgeous, like almost my perfect working temperature.
On our travels, up the high path, I heard a couple of cat meows, this was not a place I'd expect to see cats. As I walked down to the grotto, I saw an older couple pottering about and as we got close, Arlo disappeared round the back over the grotto and when I reached him, there he was standing staring at.. a cat. A tall long cat, I wondered if it was wild. Then the man came round and asked if I'd seen a cat. Er... yes, my dog is guarding it for you. They had 2 cats, and seemed out for a walk. I wondered if they were from the big house, but has Australian accents.
Off we walked for some sunken garden frisbee, and when we headed up the hill, omg there they were again. I got Arlo back down the hill to put his lead on and returned back up the hill and through snowdrop alley where the same cat was sauntering along, well behind the couple. He came back to get it, they were staying in the holiday cottage on the estate. They were bengali cats. They were gorgeous.
It's one thing to take your cats a walk, we've enjoyed doing it around the local fields or tracks. But to do it in a new location, out in the wild, with expensive cats... OMG. And tall trees everywhere... no access for firefighters here!
