Strong Ukrainian Women

Sofiya and her Mum . Our young friend, Sofiya, came to Switzerland as an English assistant in one of the local schools, just before covid happened. We have been looking out for her as “surrogate grandparents” since she arrived. It is almost three years since she saw her Mum who arrived from the UK two days ago. She and her Mum left the Ukraine to live in the UK when Sofiya was a small child but they have family and friends trapped there. Sofiya’s boyfriend leaves Switzerland tomorrow to go to Poland to try to find his aunt who is Ukrainian and who had been visiting Switzerland but had returned before the war started, unfortunately. Despite all their worries, our visitors were good company and, as animals lovers, very content to stroke Preston!
