Adam & Eve

The beautiful deeply cut stone at Logierait Kirk reminded me that the eighteenth century masons had to reconcile Adam and Eve’s Biblical nakedness with Presbyterian sensibilities: various strategies were employed, including giving Eve extremely long hair. In this case they have been discreetly cut off and made almost completely androgynous.
