Grandstreet Theatre, 2013
Tonight I went on a true, blue social outing after work! I've been invited out weekly ever since I arrived in January, but have not had the time or energy to be social yet (soooo much to take care of with big move, new job, etc.). I had a very productive day at work, so it was time to go to 3 beer Thursday at the Blackfoot River Brewery Taproom.
First of all - BEST SINGLE-MALT-IPA-EVER
Second, my colleague and I met at work and walked to the Brewery so we could get at least a *little* bit of exercise. It was a walk "back in time" in many ways. We walked past a fountain and I had a flashback of being probably no more than 4 years old playing in that fountain! We walked past my dad's old office space, my parent's old businesses, and a number of other very "old" haunts (I have not lived in my hometown since I was 18 years old...). One of the buildings we walked past that brought back big memories was the Grandstreet Theatre. I remember taking tap dancing lessons there when I must have only been about 6 years old. I can still remember my red and white polka dot tutu, rosy red cheeks, shiny black tap shoes, and the shiny, vinyl-covered box that we used as a prop. WOW.
I still can't believe that I am living in my hometown. Pinch me, please.
