Surprise!

Another bright but windy day. This little group of anemones has found its way under the cockspur hawthorn in the corner of the garden. It's thriving, the ones I actually planted - also in light shade, at the back of the shrub border, aren't. Anyway, mustn't grumble - except that I can't get close to them, under the low branches; the hawthorn has the name "cockspur" for a very good reason!
