Atoms and Elements: Whizz, Pop, Bang!

A spot of early morning reading in the sunshine. Will gets a monthly children's science magazine called Whizz, Pop, Bang! This month's is all about atoms and elements. Having read, this morning, about copper, sodium and potassium changing the colour of flames, we are planning to burn some metals in a candle flame tomorrow to see what happens. I have copper strips, magnesium ribbon, zinc pellets and iron filings. I also have some potassium salts so hopefully it will all work and provide both learning and fun. Fingers crossed...
