We saw a small but beautiful exhibition of black and white photographs displayed inside the Ingreja De Santa Cruz Do Castelo. The photographs were mostly taken in the 1940s and 50s when there was a real living community in the Castelo area - in sharp contrast (if you forgive the photographic pun) to the area now - which is full of tourists, tourist shops and Airbnb’s.
