Timely lecture tonight with the new retinal guy on the block. Epiretinal membranes are not a regular occurrence in practice but can have catastrophic visual loss. My lunchtime patient, I referred last year and had an epiretinal peel with a relatively good outcome but a wife whose expectations were rather higher so the discussion after was longer than the eye test. £10,000 it cost them… her choice to go private not mine!
Tonight’s lecture illuminated everything and thankfully I got my chat right as was slightly winging it :))
