The roof of the shed

International Women’s Day, so it was. Not as straightforward a thing as it used to be, as defining what a woman is seems to be beyond many people. The Filmhouse, tiptoed round it in their email: “Celebrating women-identifying people in your life.” I find that a peculiar construct, but is that just because I’m old?
Anyway, later we met up with P& K at Ocean Terminal to watch The Duke, with that Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren. And I really enjoyed it! A skilful filmmaker was that Roger Michell, knowing all the buttons to press, steering just on the right side of an Ealing comedy. Or maybe of course, I’m just really really getting old.
