Burrell Renewed

There is a small but very informative exhibition at Dunoon's Burgh Hall at present, explaining the refurbishment of the Burrell Collection , which re-opens shortly after a five and a half year closure.

The Burrell project has been undertaken by John McAslan + Partners, and John of course has been the crucial  inspirational force behind the survival and renewal of the Burgh Hall  (and I declare an interest as one of the Patrons of the Hall Trust).  

The exhibition prompts all sorts of memories of my own trips to the Burrell, and also reminds us how visionary Glasgow has been over the past few generations in its investment in culture, an investment that is also being renewed by this project.  

Having seen this exhibition, I cant wait to see the renewed Burrell itself.
