She's back!

It made my day today to see that this female curlew (nicknamed 'Hopalong' by me) had returned, with the male, to the usual field. She has a broken leg, and has had for a good number of years. Last year, she didn't seem very strong, but she did breed. Today she sat down to preen but looked quite strong as she got up and walked around the field, feeding as she went. What a survivor!
