A Love-In

Arthur Lee, the man in the top hat, is one of my heroes. Love was a nineteen sixties band in Los Angeles, that never broke out of California. A lot of that was due to Arthur's paranoid reluctance to go anywhere else at that time. Their 1967 album, Forever Changes, now seen as a classic, made 156 or something on the US Billboard chart. In the UK, it did better reaching number thirty. Today I have been compiling a Love CD for a pal, and immersing myself in their music. I talked to Arthur Lee briefly, in a hotel lobby in 1974. A moment I will always treasure.
