WELCOME FEAST

I love my old Welcome Dover coal stove and we use it on the coldest days in winter, heating that part of the house while cooking a hearty soup at the same time.
The quince and pomegranate tart was a great success. The fruit was stewed with less suger than is normal and lemon juice with zest was added to give it a slight tart flavour. Pomegranate molasses was drizzled over the top.
The honey and almond cake was actually a flop as it rose well and then collapsed equally dramatically. However my bookclub friends gave it the thumbs up so I did not confess that it was a cake and not a tart!
