More Sunspots

The Sun's equator runs across the centre of this image. Sunspot activity shows an average cycle of 11 years. At solar minimum they appear at high latitudes up to 45° N or S of the equator, as the cycle progresses towards maximum the sunspots form closer and closer to the equator.
The last maximum was in 2014, minimum was at the end of 2019 and we are now well into cycle 25 which should peak in 2025.
The counting of solar cycles began in 1755.

This image was taken on my DSLR with a 500mm telephoto lens fitted with a solar filter, f9, ISO100, 1/60th and processed in Affinity Photo.
NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT PROPER BONA FIDE FILTRATION.
