New Flags

The south end of my Eastlake neighborhood …lots of blue and yellow flags have appeared all over.   Lots of good people supporting the Ukraine with donations wishing they could do more . 

That sculpture (is it a plane? a boat? a wave? ) was placed at this entrance in 1995 , with a neighborhood grant to Sculptor Thomas Lindsey.  It’s called  “Shear Draft “ and pays homage to the maritime origins on the lake and to Boeing who once built seaplanes not far away.  (end of our street actually)   It was fabricated at Lake Union Dry Dock.
