Balance

Took this picture at lunch time while walking the dog. It shows a tower crane with a large concrete mass on one end balancing the other end. They knocked down two blocks of flats on this site last year, and are currently building some new ones.

Sadly it's all in situ concrete casting and very little insulation - or annoying internal insulation on the wrong side of the the thermal mass.  Concrete doesn't breath like other materials, so it's prone to condensation problems, and has a massive CO2 footprint.. Climate change and energy crisis  - not here....?!!!
