Nesting

We noticed yesterday that the moorhen had taken advantage of the boom to build a nest just inside it and even laid an egg in it, but were wondering whether the swans had an opinion (their long time nest site under the bridge is just out of shot to the right).

So wandered down today to see what was happening - eek, two moorhen eggs now, but the boom has been removed so her nest may be free-floating. Turns out that the swans seemed to be having trouble getting over the boom and their local guardians were worried that they might not use the nest.
