Floating Heads

Floating Heads - This is an installation art piece by Sophie Cave, there are 96 floating heads with 4 different facial expressions and they are made from fibre glass. This is apparently not an exhibition piece at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum (which I visited today) but a statement for the 'Expressionist' section of the gallery! I couldn't find any information on the artist or who had created the installation in or around the work, but I eventually found a lady who could answer all my questions! I think it is such a dynamic piece and quite surreal having the repeated expressions just floating above you as you wander through the lovely hallways of the gallery!
Me and my parents went to the gallery today as a day out and it was amazing to see all the different exhibitions and work! They have a huge and wonderful variety of pieces and extracts of history both gory and elegant well worth a visit if you ever get the chance, and it's wonderfully all free!
