Laney and I took another walk by the fresh water sanctuary. She loves to chase all the ground squirrels that live around there. I think she has more fun digging for them after they dart into their holes than she does looking up into the trees for the squirrels at home.

Meanwhile I enjoy seeing all the birds up close that congregate there. Today I saw American Coots, Mallards, Pied-billed Grebes, a Commorant and a Snowy Egret in mating plumage. But my favorite shot was of this little House Sparrow in the reeds by water's edge.
