Where has all the water gone..
Well, we've had another glorious day again, and with interruptions by visitors.
Intention was to rake the ground for Salsify and Scorzonera, and sow. Partly raked before there's a "Hello" at the croft gate. J and C from the Kylesku come for a look around. So we gave the guided tour, looked at the views, mulled over the poly-tunnel, and then a look at Eddrachilles bay while G made coffee.
Tanni found a ditch. Not an ordinary ditch, but one that F had been riding his motor bike through last summer. It's well churned up, and because we've not had any rain, pretty stagnant. She decided to explore, and not from side to side, but end to end. At one time all we could see of her "back end" was the tail wagging merrily. SHE WAS NOT ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE.
So, take her to the bath for a wash, or go back down the croft to the sea. Obvious choice. Back down the croft is was, and with a new, unchewed, still bouyant, tennis ball. 7 or 8 throws into the sea completed the pre-wash, another 9 or 10 into deeper water did the main wash, another 6 or 7 for the final rinse, and then she spun herself dry.
This pic is the sea emptying itself ready for a new wash cycle tomorrow.
We didn't get anything planted, but I stayed on to finish the raking, only interrupted by chats with H, and later with A.
There's another day..
