First daffodils
Blue sky and warmer again today. This is the first local clump of daffodils to bloom each year, across the street in K's driveway. It's a sheltered, south-facing spot, but you can see some snow remaining beyond the fence. I walked over to snap a picture or two, and then stayed out for another half hour doing some weeding in our yard.
W. had an interesting work day. In the interest of not driving, he bused into Reston for a site visit and meeting, and afterwards needed a place to work for a few hours before he could catch a return bus west. One of his county colleagues at the meeting was a firefighter, who called the local firehouse. So instead of working at his own office or at home, W. spent the afternoon working at a fire station. They even brewed him a pot of coffee. At one point dispatch called and everyone else sirened out of there.
I. is back at college.
D. starts hearing this week from the colleges he applied to (beyond two "safeties" that he got into, which would be just fine).
I leave for Seattle in a week.
The marigold seeds I planted indoors have germinated already.
Janessa had a good lesson today and told me she is writing a story in which Little Red Riding Hood is a bad guy.
I've been spending much time reading and listening to news from Ukraine. It just gets worse and worse, as we feared it would.
