Bottlebrush

A dramatic showing in a neighbor's yard is this colorful shrub. This Bottlebrush (Callistemon citrinus) blossom is about 3 inches in diameter and 4 inches long. This is a native Australian ornamental shrub that gets its common name from the red flowers it produces, which look like bottle brushes.

Very overcast skies today that adds extra punch to the flowers and new growth in trees. It must be Spring!
