Amandine's Plot Treize

Rhubarb escaping forcing

Thinking about it, it's a bit silly to have a late rhubarb cultivar given it's one of the first crops you harvest at the end of the winter, when you're so desperate for fresh homegrown produce...

Each year, I jealously walk past huge rhubarb plants around the allotment and by the time mine's finally doing something, most allotmenteers are practically begging you to take some of their rhubarb off their hands!

But my rhubarb's kind of worth the wait: it was divided from my parents-in-law's garden and they live in the rhubarb triangle.

I'm forcing it this year but there's always the odd stem trying to escape forcing!
