The Ides of March
On the 15th of March 44 BC Julius Caesar was assassinated. It’s thought that up to 60 Senators were involved in the plot and he was stabbed over 20 times. His death marked the beginning of the end of the Roman Republic and the beginning of the end of one of the earliest democratic civilisations.
History has a habit of repeating itself: nowadays democracy is on the decline across the world.
