Ancient Majesty

We took a walk around the loop boardwalk running through a small part of the acreage that is preserved and known as Yarndley's Bush, just 15 minutes south of our home on what was once part of many hundreds of acres of peat swamp. There are still numbers of peat lakes in the area which is now mostly dairy farms.
A wonderful walk through these breathtaking and ancient Kahikatea trees and their understory of New Zealand native bush.
