Friday Night Sewing
After using a 50% off coupon at the fabric store and walking out with 18.5 yards of muslin and all the material I have at home, I am finally going to sit down and make peasant skirts for myself. That is the plan for the muslin and cotton. The ultra suede and sheer satin will end up being made into a gored skirt with over skirt (ultra suede the under skirt, sheer satin will be the over skirt). I know what I will be doing all weekend. It is time to replace my skirts which have been worn and washed so many times that the material has little holes in it. 15 years of wash 'n wear will do that. I will keep them for patterns, though and store them in my cedar chest until I want to make more skirts.
I do have another two 50% off coupons that are good until May 4. My husband told me I need to make myself a satin Steampunk dress. Collars make me cry, as do pleats. :( That project will have to wait awhile.
