Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh ☘
The first since 2019, we headed over to Ballydehob. As we arrived the heavens opened but by the time we'd wandered into the village the sun burst forth and remained. Something lovely about this parade - it's very real, mostly the schools (theme this year recycling), the local branch of the Irish coastguards, millions of vintage tractors and of course St Patrick, who was given out to this year for not sporting a beard! The commentator had been a local teacher and she knew everyone!
I love people watching most of all. I'm putting a few in the extras, they will be removed shortly but you get the gist - possibly! And it's Murphy;s here not Guinness.
A nice touch, many landmarks that traditionally go green have been asked to sport blue and yellow colours this year - as my brother pointed out, blue and yellow make green. What a world away. And in America, our Taoiseach, armed with his bowl of shamrocks to present to Biden, has come down with Covid.
