Snake's-head fritillary

Yesterday was a difficult day. We had my father's funeral, amidst torrential rain. I spent today with the spaniel under blue skies and sunshine walking in the Chilterns. We came across a good sized group of Snake's-head fritillary (other spellings are available), not something you find in the wild so much these days.
