It's the simple things....
...that make me happy :-))
Our trip to Ikea was successful in that we got lots of ideas for the Support Team's kitchen.
A two ring hob and proper size oven that is also a microwave and grill would give the team more options for meal making. The kitchen in a cupboard has served them well over the last 10 years, but over time their shift patterns have changed and they now work longer shifts and overnights so need proper meals.
Next step is to speak to our plumber to discuss plumbing for a washing machine and sink, and where best to position those.
As ever when visiting Ikea, it's impossible to come home without buying something that wasn't on the shopping list. This time it was this little storage trolley we won't mention the large pack of mini orange Daim bars.
It's actually meant for kitchen storage and comes with a wooden chopping board for the top tray but as soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect to store my brushes and watercolour paints, meaning I have freed up a drawer in my desk and cleared a load of clutter from the surface. Result. I am ridiculously happy with it :-))
So a great day till mid evening when David noticed a floor tile beside the bi-fold doors in the garden room is loose. After closer inspection it would appear more than one is loose. Something's not right. First task tomorrow will be a phone call to the builder. Oh joy!
We watched Nazanin Zagari-Ratcliffe make the the joyful return to Uk soil following her release from an Iranian jail, after serving six years for a crime she didn't commit. How must she have felt to step out of that plane onto UK soil and know she was home at last with her husband and daughter waiting to greet her? Wonderful! I hope they family will be left in peace now to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and put them together again, without the glare of media reporting their every move.
