Pine Cone Repetition

The Abstract Thursday theme is " repetition ".  I decided to blip a pine cone I found in the back lane as the scales have a repeating pattern.  Then - as its St Patricks Day  - I chose a green theme and made a collage trio.  Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting. 

A relaxed sort of day today as I had nowhere I needed to be.  Did a load of washing and had a wander to the Co-op this afternoon.   The Co-op were playing Irish songs and I was pleased when a song by The Saw Doctors came on.  They are my favourite Irish band.  Seen them live a couple of time and they were great.  It was THIS  song I heard today.

Listened to the a match on the radio this evening.  Newcastle were playing away at Everton - 7.45pm kick off.  It was a match that Newcastle had a good chance of winning.... but it wasn't to be.  Both teams were poor.  The game was a scrappy affair.  Even when Everton were down to 10 men Newcastle couldn't make the most of it.  At full time the score was 0 - 0. 

However there was 14 mins of added time.  Most of this was due to there being a protester who got on to the pitch and managed to attach himself to one of the goal posts using a cable tie around his neck.  The match had to be stopped while stewards found some bolt cutters and used them to get him free.   ( the message on his T Shirt read " Just Stop Oil".) Apparently a protester tied himself to the goalpost in yesterdays Arsenal V Liverpool game too. Hope this isn't going to be a regular occurrence.  Everton managed to get a goal in the 9th minute of Extra time and that was it - no points for The Magpies. The Newcastle team and backroom staff are off to Dubai now for some warm weather training.  Hopefully they will return with renewed energy and get back to winning ways.
