Eclectic

Another day in the office with a combination of online meetings and promotions work and emails etc. Chaired my last SGSAH board and then an upbeat call with Ag before meeting up with C,S and M to drive over to Glasgow for the opening of the refurbished Burrell collection. Interesting to travel in a Tesla, and lots of chat about electric vehicles, oceans and photography.
Hardly knew anyone at the reception …the Glasgow rather than Edinburgh crowd!…but had a good look round and we devoured the canapés having not had anything since lunch …so strange to see it before all the rooms were finished so there was quite a lot of debris around. I didn’t know the museum before its refurb so am not sure how it’s changed, but a very eclectic collection so I found it hard to get a sense of the narrative. Chatted to CB about the odd rather uninformative labels on the exhibits, VickyG about the lack of contextual history, and C&SH about their recent move from Ayrshire to London.
