A Day Redeemed by Luna

Generally not a good day. I had to go to the hospital in Harrogate for physiotherapy; the ankle, which had been improving steadily,, was suddenly very painful. Arriving at Harrogate bus station the 14.30 bus to Otley wasn’t on the display; the next one listed was 15.35. Some people decided to leave and come back in an hour; I resigned myself to waiting and, happily, the X52 turned up at 14.20. The driver got off and assured us that another driver would come and take it out at 14.30. At 14.41 he did, carrying a bag which proclaimed ‘Words cannot express how much I don’t care’. A fellow passenger told me that he tends to place this on the bus so that it’s visible to all. I wonder if this is a reflection of Connexions buses’ attitude to customer service?

However, in Otley I went to the Joy cafe on Boroughgate, and made the acquaintance of Luna, a very friendly Saluki Shepherd, who belongs to the owner. I shall be back. A nice ending to a frustrating day.

OK, rant over.
