Anyone hanging around this journal is bound to see a few blips of Carluccio's, we always seem to end up eating there.

But we topped that off tonight by heading out to hear the man himself speak. He is in town to promote his new biography.

What a charmer he is. "I'll tell you a great story..." he said, and so often he did. And some great one liners too.

And from someone who's been a wine merchant for about 50 years: "You know that the wine is good... when you like it" :-)

We bought the book, stood to get it signed and even got a photo. Not posting it though because frankly I look too excited at meeting a 75 year old Italian cook!
