Viaduct
Backblip Friday 12 April 2013
Our morning fitness walking today was along the Bissoe Valley old railway line. The Sun was out and it was lovely to see the primroses and buds on the trees; Spring has finally sprung!
Through the arch you can see some of the original viaduct which was part of the Great Western Railway constructed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. In 1831 Brunel's designs won the competition for the Clifton Suspension Bridge across the River Avon though the bridge wasn't completed until 1864.
