The Gate

We had lunch at The Gate, a vegetarian restaurant in artist Frank Brangwyn’s old studio in Hammersmith. This is not vegetarian food the way we cook it! They have published two cookbooks, but I am too lazy, I’m afraid. D told me about Friday’s lecture on the Laocoon statue, among other things.
Later we saw the film ‘Ali and Ada’ at the new arts centre. D ran into some old tennis buddies and may play with them, although they have moved to courts that are across the bridge and harder for him to get to.
The riverside was very busy; it was interesting to see the large blocks of new flats at least partly occupied. I had wondered if most of them were owned by foreign investors. And maybe they are.
