A concert for Ukraine.

Spent a very happy hour and a half listening to some wonderful performers. The youngest was six and the oldest was eighty. A friend had organised this from nothing in about two weeks. She sent the word out in Shrewsbury and 25 performers came and played their violins, cellos, piano and sung. The 80 yr old played a pipe with one hand and a tabula drum with the other. Such incredible talent. The concert opened with an incredible saxophonist playing the Ukrainian National Anthem. One gentleman who is an organist, composed a wonderful piece for piano, just for this concert. Most of the music was classical but one young man who happened to be in Shrewsbury for an audition today, was walking past the church and saw what was happening and was persuaded to come in and play. He did an incredible rendition of Rag ‘n’ bone Man’s song ‘Human’. Music is so powerful to bring people together.
