Family day

We do love our trips to Canberra (our home for more than 20 years), because that's where the bairns and grandbairns live. Today, we all had a picnic in Commonwealth Park, in the heart of the city, looking out on Lake Burley Griffin. That's the Cook Memorial Fountain out there, Commonwealth Bridge on the right, and the National Library on the far bank. Through the spray, you can catch a glimpse of the flagpole atop the Federal Parliament building.
