Night painting

With painterly hand,
The spilling light gilds the tree.
Skeleton revealed.

Weekend break postponed due to weather. Instead took ourselves off to our local independant cinema to see Late Quartet.

What a fabulous film, profoundly moving in a quiet, understated way. Excellent performances from a quality cast - particularly from Christopher Walken.

Came home emotionally drained and realised at 11:30 that I had no blip .... tried a few sky at night shots (not very successfully) then noticed the Catalpa tree lit up in the light from the bedroom window (I had left the light on - whoops!). This is it. It struck me that it looked like a painting of a tree with the branches suggested by simple brush strokes.

Today (Saturday) is grey and wet and my camera says battery exhausted .... will probably have similar blip panic later!!
