Sunny Morning, Rain Later

After a beautiful start to the day the cloud rolled in and it is currently pouring down! After a chilly star to Spring though, it is at least warming up a little. Talking of temperatures, the surface of the Sun as seen in the blip which is known as the photosphere (the Sun not the blip) is at some 5,500 centigrade, the sunspots are 1,500 - 2,000 degrees cooler. You would think that the outer atmosphere surrounding what we see as the 'surface' of the Sun would be somewhat cooler still, but the Corona as it is called, rises to more than a million degrees centigrade! Astrophysicists are still trying to figure out why this should be so!
Sometimes I wish I'd done astrophysics instead of art........
