Recording Richard Godden

This week our student sound production team is recording Richard Godden as he plays the news reader in our podcast series. Richard is reading press cuttings from a range of national and regional newspapers from the period that LornaL wrote her war diary, as well as some extracts from archived BBC radio news scripts.

Amongst the press cuttings are several from the Malvern Gazette, LornaL's local newspaper. These include direct references to wartime activities in Malvern that we know about from the diary e.g. the ration books that LornaL helped make (see the entry of 19th October 1939, and the children evacuated to Malvern at the start of the war (see the entry of 1st September 1939).
