Cumbria Here I Come

By marpaul

After a frosty start the sun came out ... was quite hazy over The Langdales. Went to Tarn Hows as thought there might be reflections but I probably should have been there a bit earlier.  It was very strange walking around the area by Tom Heights plantation as so many trees have been either uprooted or cut down.  Apparently numerous trees came down just a few weeks ago when we had all that strong wind and lots of larch trees have been felled due to disease.  Looks completely different to when I was last there a couple of years ago.  Anyhow I cut across some fields to see the views of High Arnside which are breathtaking and the blip doesn't do it justice.  Sat down on top of a hill for a long time just taking it all in.  Met a group of guys on bikes and had some lighthearted banter with them which was fun.  Back to the car for lunch having clocked up over 14k steps.  A few more in extras.
