Rain

Having lived for twenty-four years in semi-arid NE Brazil, where drought meant huge hardship and suffering, I love rain. And here in Portugal, most of the country was in extreme drought, so the over 2cms of precipitation today has made us very happy. Walked down to the Lake with Paul and you could clearly see that the water had risen.

Lent verses were Luke 4v24-30; Jesus is speaking in the synagogue of Nazareth where he had been raised. The folk, though impressed, were sceptical. Jesus says:
No prophet is ever welcomed in his hometown.
I imagine that everyone reading this knows something of who Jesus is - the question is whether we welcome him. Not always easy to do, however much we might admire him...
