Emerging wasp

This large wasp was enjoying the teak garden table in the afternoon sun. The cloudy morning was cooler than expected. We enjoyed the warmth of a very dear old friend’s company in our house this morning. I washed the car in front of the house, this afternoon, and it was lovely to catch up with some more of our new neighbours. The winter, and Covid, are not conducive to easy social contact. The arrival of spring is rapidly changing all of that.
